The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has decided to increase the winning bonus of $2000 meant for the Flying Eagles in the on-going African Youth Championship (AYC) if they beat Egypt.
Leader of the Nigerian delegation to the championship and a member of NFF, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, today made the promise in Oran.
The Flying Eagles will be meeting the junior Pharaohs of Egypt in the semi-final clash of the African Youth Championship on Tuesday.
Mr Fresh said, “Before we came here they used to receive $1OOO but the executive committee decided to increase it to $2OOO winning bonus. So, naturally, one expects an increment as they advance in the competition.
Although Mr Fresh refused to state what the increment will look like but he promised it will not remain the same as the Flying Eagles progress in the tournament.
He however assured that the team was in a state of mind to do well as there are no cases of injury worries whatsoever and the players are therefore fit to do battle with any team in the tournament.
He highlighted the fact that every Nigerian wants the Flying Eagles to win therefore the urged Coach John Obuh to concentrate on shooting on target as this would achieve the purpose of winning and winning well.
