The Sokoto State government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bank of Agriculture which will see the bank disburse N1billion loans to farmers in the state.
Under this collaboration, the bank and the state government will pool the funds which will be disbursed to small and medium scale farmers.
About 5,000 farmers in the state are expected to benefit from the venture.
The state governor, Aliyu Wamakko said that this collaboration is his administration’s first direct relationship with the reinvented Bank of Agriculture.
