The Nigeria Football Federation has ordered two NFPL clubs, Enugu Rangers and Warri Wolves, to agree on a transfer fee for the Afcon 2013 superstarSunday Mba, to enable him settle down at his desired club.

According to a statement released by the Ad-hoc committee of the NFF, this agreement has to be concluded before the close of work on Thursday the 28th of March or both clubs would forfeit the right to decide an amount, thereby forcing the NFF to fix a fee for his transfer.

“Failure of the two clubs to reach a reasonable conclusion on the fee will compel the NFF to fix such a transfer fee by Friday, March 29, which must be paid on the agreed terms before the player is cleared to play for his preferred club and continue his career,” the committee stated.

During the investigation by the NFF committee setup to look into the Sunday Mba saga which has hampered the midfielder’s chance of playing topflight football in Europe, it was found that the player was transferred from Enyimba FC of Aba to Rangers in December 2006 and was loaned to Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt.

“Transfer and loan fees meant for player transactions were not written down in clear terms and club accounts were found not to have been used for most transactions, which promotes unhealthy dealings in player transfers,” the NFF committee maintained.

Mba, who has since expressed his desire to discontinue his dealings with Warri Wolves and return to Rangers instead, signaled the risk of engaging in verbal contracts in the football league, as transfer and loans fees meant for Sunday Mba were not put into writing.
