Lobi Stars, Nigeria’s representative at the CAF confederation cup has crashed out of the competition as they were beaten by Liga Muculmana in Maputo 7-1.

In a first leg that Lobi Stars won 3-1, it was looking reassuring for the club to knock the Maputo club out with a supposedly easy second leg but the story was a different on for Lobi Stars.

Lobi were one of the outstanding teams on the Nigerian domestic scene last season.

They finished third in the Nigeria league and were beaten in the final of the Federation Cup by cup holders Heartland.

Goalkeeper John Lawrence was given a red card to exit the game, as they became the first Nigerian club to actually exit any tournament this season after Liga Muculmana proceed on an aggregate of 8-4.
