The uncle of the two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing says, ”We’re devastated. We’re shocked” and speculates his nephews may have been motivated by their frustrations settling in the U.S.

Their uncle Ruslan Tsarni held a press conference outside of his home in Montgomery Village, Maryland where he said that they had brought ‘shame’ on both their family and their country.

He described the older brother as a ‘loser’ and said the pair were ‘barbarians’.

‘I’ve been watching it and reading it. The people who did this, they don’t deserve to even exist on this Earth, that is what I think,’ he said.

‘I just wish they never existed. I’m wordless. I’m shocked.’

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, went on the run after his older brother Tamerlan was killed in a shoot-out with police in Massachusetts.

Mr Tsarni said he had not spoken to the men – his older brother’s sons – for ‘a number of years’. The siblings lived together near Boston, having moved to the U.S. around a decade ago after growing up in an area of Russia near Chechnya. When he was told that Tamerlan had died, Mr Tsarni replied: ‘He deserved it. He absolutely deserved his it.’
