The Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has expressed optimism that the security situation report submitted to the forum will ensure a lasting and enduring peace to the nation.
Addressing journalists in Abuja shortly after a closed door meeting which lasted over four hours, Governor Akpabio announced that the report and its recommendations will be forwarded to President Goodluck Jonathan for immediate implementation.
Although Governor Akpabio declined giving details of the report, he added that the forum also received the reconciliation committee report presented by Governor Shehu Shema of Katsina State and expressed satisfaction that peace is returning to the party ahead of the 2015 general elections.
