Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has announced the results of the rescheduled council elections in Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha local government areas.

The EDSIEC Chairman, Mr. Solomon Ogoh, who announced the results yesterday at the EDSIEC headquarters in Benin City, said the ACN scored 12,021, ANPP-395, CPC-27, LP-680, Accord-59, PDP-4,527 in Ikpoba-Okha local government area and declared Mrs. Itohan Osahon Ogbeide of Action Congress of Nigeria as winner.

In Oredo local government area, ACN scored 17,564, ANPP-dash, CPC-dash, LP-938, Accord-dash, PDP-2,356 and declared Mr. Osaro Obazee of Action Congress of Nigeria as winner.

Ogoh further said the establishment has recorded improvement in the last three months as for the first time since the inception of EDSIEC, the commission acquired their own ballot boxes and voting screens.

He added that the ballot papers used during the election were first time in the state customized along the senatorial districts making them different from one another senatorially.

He said the case of alleged lock-out of ITV reporters from the EDSIEC headquarters in Benin City was untrue, adding that attempt should have been made by the affected persons to reach him, before all the comments he described as unfair, were made about him in the media.
