Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has impounded about 2, 000 bags of Indian Hemp in a thick forest near Ago Dada, a farm settlement in Akure North Local Government Area of the State.

He explained that the officers of the agency trekked for about 8 kilometres through very difficult terrain before they could bring the drugs to town.
Nicholas also said there were sporadic shootings at the officers by suspected drug traffickers during the night of the operation.
The principal staff officer, Prosecution and Legal Services of Ondo State Command of NDLEA, Mr. Kurutsi Tawum informed that about 75 drug offenders in the state had been convicted before the Federal High Court in the last three years.
The war against drug cultivators and traffickers seem to be unending in Ondo State, despite the war waged against them by the NDLEA in the State.
However, the NDLEA says it will not relent in the war until all drug offenders are sent packing from the state.
