The commissioner for Health in Lagos state, Dr. Jide Idris has said that infant mortality is very high in Lagos state.
While speaking on Channels Television’s Health Programme, Health Matters, Dr. Jide said there are some factors that affects infant mortality, he highlighted such as:
• Due delays: a situation where pregnant women are not aware and don’t have the resources to take care of themselves
• Proper sensitization of a pregnant woman
• Inadequate care.
• Malaria in pregnancy
• Abortion
• Infection
