Two suspects who specialize in illegal oil bunkering and oil pipeline vandalization along the Kaduna-Abuja axis have been arrested by troops from One Division of the Nigerian Army, internal security force.

The suspects were arrested at Sabon Gida village, Kaduna south local government area, about 6KM off old Kaduna-Abuja toll gate on the 21st of March, 2013.

Parading the suspects before journalists at One Division strike force base in Kaduna, Commander 41 Division engineers; Brigadier-Ggeneral Tagbo Ude, said the suspects; Usman Umar and Aliyu Musa were caught while pumping diesel from an oil pipeline in into four stationed tankers.

He said the troop seized the four petrol tankers with two of them already loaded with 12,300 litres and 39,500 litres of diesel respectively.

He added that the remaining suspects still at large took to their heels during the raid.

Other items discovered by the troop include three generators, one drilling machine, welding appliances and assorted tanker keys.

The suspects were later handed over to the Kaduna state command of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of criminal investigation, Yahaya Bello said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
