A 34-year-old graduate of Computer Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is now cooling his feet with the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly duping a lady of the sum of N850,000.

Narrating the arrest to journalists at the headquarters of the NSCDC in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the state Commandant, Mr. Waheed Popoola, explained that a lady who said she met the accused on a social networking site, Facebook, came to report that he borrowed the sum of N850,000 from her and bolted away without paying.

The suspect was reported to have also duped a widow named Funmi, with whom he was engaged, of thousands of Naira. He also allegedly took away a Honda Accord 2007 model with registration Number CU 730 RSH belonging to her brother who is a Reverend Father since March.

The suspect, who claimed to be an Abuja-based car dealer, confessed that he borrowed N850,000 from the lady who reported him but denied that he ran away with the Rev. Father’s car, claiming that the cleric himself gave him the car to help him sell it.
