Ahead of the talks to end the Syria crisis which had dragged on for so long and record casualties as bloodshed continues to be on the increase, the United States Secretary of State; John Kerry has called Syria President Bashar al-Assad not to reject solutions proffered to the uprising that has plagued the country else there will be consequences.

“In the event that we can’t find that way forward, in the event that the Assad regime is unwilling to negotiate Geneva 1 in good faith, we will also talk about our continued support and growing support for the opposition in order to permit them to continue to be able to fight for the freedom for their country.”

John Kerry who was speaking in Jordan hinted that the Western governments are ready to render more support to the opponents of President Bashar al-Assad if he throws a clog in the wheel of progress by rejecting political solutions as all the partners will be there with the goal of putting an end to the bloodshed in Syria.

The Syria crisis has raged on for more than two years now.

The US and Russia are however hoping that a peace conference in Geneva next month may end the violence, the conference which is aimed at building on last year’s accord in Geneva which set out plans for a transition of power in Syria, but broke down over disagreements about Assad’s role, reason why the United States Secretary of State; John Kerry forewarned Al-Assad.
