Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Salami listed the sectors that experienced transformation to include Agriculture, Foreign Direct Investment and Power.

“When this government came on board, it was confronted with some challenges of inadequate generation of power, problems of transmission and inadequate infrastructure for the distribution of power,” he said.

He added that the Jonathan’s administration has “within two years almost double the capacity of this country to generate electricity. The government met a little below 3000MW, today we are doing about 4500MW.”

President Jonathan last Wednesday presented the performance report of his administration in its first two years in office.

The president said two ministries – National Planning and Trade and Investment, were among the ministries which had performed the most in the two years under review.

According to him, the performance of the two ministers in the last two years was unprecedented, adding that the Minister of Trade and Investment has attracted many businesses to the country, in spite of security challenges.

Before launching the 234-page document, entitled “The Mid-term Report of the Transformation Agenda 2011 — 2103,” the president pleaded with those who wanted to assess his government to be sure that they had a well-developed set of criteria to carry out such assessment objectively.
