The Governor of 
Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, on Thursday sworn-in 10 new permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
Governor Akpabio said the exercise was necessitated by the need to fill the vacancies created by the retirement of some permanent secretaries who had completed their mandatory years in the service.
He described the position as the apex of the civil service which requires seriousness and commitment. He therefore charged the new permanent secretaries to be focused and dedicated to their duties in line with the development revolution in the state.
Akpabio urged the new appointees to ensure that they internalise laid down work ethics which he described as the secret of his adminisration’s success,noting that the wheel of the uncommon transformation policy of the state government revolves around permanent secretaries.
The governor also urged them to see their new office as an opportunity to serve the state.
