Governors of the 19 northern states have resolved to create an economic plan and to revive ailing industries to fast track development and reduce poverty in the region.
This is part of the decision taken at the end of the Northern Governors Forum in Kaduna.
The chairman of the forum, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger state explained that the governors are concerned about the economic and security challenges facing the region.
The governors also resolved to resuscitate some of the industries owned by the governments of the northern states.
