The clamour for a better standard of living for the Nigeria Police Force got a major boost as President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday commissioned the first modern police housing estate named after him in Lagos.

Those in attendance at the opening ceremony of the housing estate include the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, Chief of Defence, Air and Army staff, the Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olukolade and chairman Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro.

The President commended the initiative of the Nigerian police to provide affordable housing for its officers and also reiterated the commitment of his administration to provide affordable housing for Nigerians.
