Finally months of protests by staff of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have yielded some fruits.
The senate on Wednesday recommended that 96 of the disengaged staff of the commission who have additional qualification be reabsorbed.
Staff of the commission had on several occasions protested the disengagement of more than 3, 000 staff by the management.
However after investigations into the matter, the senate committee expressed concern over the severance package of the staff and recommended that each disengaged worker be paid one year salary as take home severance allowance.
