The Independent National Electoral Commission has recognized the Ejike Ogbuebego led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria as the bonafide representative of the party in Anambra State.
In a statement with reference No. INEC/EPM/PDP/24/1/153, dated 26th July, 2013, the “Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) Officially recognized Chief Ejike Ogbuebego as the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra State”.
In the statement titled “Re: Peoples Democratic Party Anambra State, INEC said it will continue to recognize Chief Ejike Ogbuebego as the State Chairman of the party in Anambra State”.
The PDP, in the statement, further claimed they were not served with any court order effecting the nullification of any state congress that returned Chief Ejike Ogbuebego as chairman of the party in the state.
The statement also stated that “the commission also monitored a state congress of the PDP which returned Chief Ejike Ogbuebego as chairman of the party in the state”
The statement was signed by Abdullahi A. Kaugama, Secretary of INEC.
