Delta state ministries of lands and works has commenced a joint demolition exercise on properties and buildings that pose a threat to achieving the vision of the proposed flyover bridges along the Nnebisi/Okpanam road.

The state government, in a bid to avoid the present state of traffic that has plagued the city of Asaba and Warri, decided to construct two flyover bridges.

The buildings affected include a church, a shopping mall and other smaller stores by Inter-Bau round about, Okpanam Road, Asaba, but plans have been made by the government to move the church to another site as well as restore the lands to the owners in other parts of the town.

The commissioner for lands, Mr. Patrick Ferife and his works ministry counterpart, Mr. Funkekeme Solomon in an interview during the demolition exercise, explained that government had actually given the occupants of this buildings the required notices long before the demolition.
