Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state on Saturday said the Ibaka seaport will provide thousands of jobs for unemployed Nigerians.
The governor stated this in Abuja when he received executives of the Chinese Company that has expressed interest in the project.
Governor Akpabio disclosed that fourteen thousand, nine hundred hectares of land has been acquired for the development of the seaport.
He explained that apart from providing jobs for thousands of unemployed people, the Ibaka seaport when completed will help to decongest existing seaports in the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed in September when the speaker of Chinese People’s Congress is expected to visit Nigeria
