Indigenes of southern region of Kaduna state north-west Nigeria, are clamouring for the next governor of the state to emerge from their region ahead of the general elections come 2015.

At a forum held in Kafanchan, participants argued that they have been marginalized politically and economically for a long time, adding that only a balanced rotation of power would address the issue.

On security matters, they resolve that the situation of a military barracks in the area will go a long way in curtailing security challenges in the area. They also want more youths from the zone to gain employment.

They claim they have contributed a lot to the success story of democracy in the state and the country at large, but say they are yet to feel government presence

But government officials present at the forum, Dr. Bakut Tswah Director of the Nigeria Institute for Conflict Resolution and also Aminu Yahaya, who represented the Kaduna state governor, said the security challenges are not peculiar to the area alone, as all hands must be on deck towards the security of lives and property in the zone.

They however advised aggrieved persons to always explore the dialogue option instead of revenge.
