The Assistant Secretary General of the Labour Party (LP) and Vice President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Issa Aremu on Wednesday called on the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  not to limit the registration of political parties in the country.

 

Aremu, who made the call while addressing journalists in Ilorin, said that it is “in order not to disenfranchise Nigerians from forming associations”.

He  also commended the electoral conducting body for the registration of All Progressive Congress (APC) but challenged the commission to desist from limiting the number of political parties in the country adding that the country still has room for more parties.

Also contributing, the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2011, Muhammad Lade announced that the party in the state had fully merged with the new registered APC in order to forge ahead and have strong political base in the state.
