One of APGA’s (The All Progressives Grand Alliance) aspirants for the November election of Anambra state, Prince John Emeka, from Anambra North Senatorial Zone, has withdrawn from the race citing irregularities in the electoral process.

Mr. Emeka further accused the state governor, Peter Obi of clear imposition of a candidate on the people of Anambra and party members, a move that has shown the lack of transparency in the democratic process of governance.

Prince Emeka insists that the Igbos as a people, abhor imposition of leaders and APGA as a political party preferred by the Igbos should not uphold such an unfair norm.

Reacting to the issue, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Joemartins Uzodike, speaking on behalf of the governor said an aspirant could withdraw honourably, but trying to attach the governor’s name to the party primary process in any way is totally unfair.
