The People’s Democratic Party in River state has expelled some members believed to be loyal to the governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
At a forum by the Felix Obuah led faction of the party in Port Harcourt, where he announced the punishment on the members, Mr Obuah told journalists that the members are involved in anti-party activities and have engaged in matters capable of destroying the party.
14 members of the rivers state executive council including the governor’s chief of staff and the secretary to the state government are among the suspended members.
But the governor’s chief of staff, Mr Tony Okocha told channels television that Obuah-led leadership should make public the yardstick used in the process of their suspension.
