Mr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah has emerged candidate of the Labour Party for the November 16 governorship election in Anambra state, with voice votes from the 1,137 accredited delegates of Labour Party.

The event which took place at Emmaus House, Awka, which was filled mammoth crowd that gathered from the twenty one local government area and 326 wards of Anambra state to either witness or be part of the election, had in attendance officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and officers of the National Working Committee of the party from Abuja.

The 1,137 accredited delegates underwent the screening and with their voice votes as conducted by the national chairman of the party, as they consented to Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to fly the flag of the party in the 2014 governorship election, being the only participant in the primary.

Declaring the Mr. Ubah the winner of the primary, the National Chairman of the party, Dan Nwanyanwu, challenged other political parties to the fact that labour party is the only party devoid of internal war and factions.

In reaction, the national chairman, Dan Nwayanwu said the unprecedented process of the primary is a challenge to other political parties who cannot achieve such feat, while the elated candidate Ifeanyi Ubah, who in his acceptance speech maintained that repositioning Anambra state to a social and humanist democratic setting was his goal, urged other parties to emulate the peace and harmony in Labour Party.
