Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned of a possible disintegration of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party unless something is done to stem the current crisis rocking the party.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting he held to broker peace between the two factions of the PDP, in Abuja, the former president explained that the meeting made some headway in the effort to broker peace.
He promised that he and the elders of the party will do their best to end the disagreement which trailed the PDP Special National Convention.
In attendance were governors of Bayelsa, Delta, Katsina, Abia, Kogi, Plateau, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, PDP National Chairman Bamangar Tukur, as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih.
Some of the governors had left the meeting but nonetheless the former BoT Chairman had a private meeting with those who were left behind, at the Hilton hotel.
