Leaders of the ruling party PDP have been brainstorming in a bid to resolve the crisis in the party with the continued mediation effort.

The meeting that was to hold later today with the President, Goodluck Jonathan and the warring factions is about now starting, in the Presidential Villa.

According to our State House Correpondent,Chukwuma Onuekwusi, the venue of today’s meetings were declared a ‘no go zone’ for journalists, including the one that is about starting.

A source at the meeting told waiting reporters that four dissenting governors were at the meeting. They are Alhaji Sule Lamido Sokoto of  Jigawa, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger, and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa.

Our camera was able to pick shots of those attending the meeting with the president, driving to the venue of the meeting inside the Presidential Villa.

The meeting follows the one held earlier in the day by former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, former chairman of the PDP, Ahmadu Ali, and some PDP governors also in the Presidential Villa.

It was gathered that the meeting was to prepare the ground for this night’s meeting

It is no longer news that the ruling party now has a new faction led by Baraje, with seven PDP governors pitching tents with the new faction, but the discord at the federal level of the party is beginning to trickling down to the state level, as some key members of the Kaduna and Kano PDP chapters resolved to align with the Baraje PDP faction, even though the Kaduna PDP chapter denied this division.

The Baraje faction secretariat was sealed by the police and they have since proceeded to the court to get an order for the secretariat to be unsealed, an order the court turned down on the grounds that there was no prove to show that the Tukur-led faction ordered the sealing.

The Baraje faction since court decision, through press statement directed to the Inspector General of Police M.D. Abubakar requested that the sealed party secretariat in Abuja, be unsealed as it is against the court order that all parties should maintain status quo pending the ruling on which party is bonafide, as both parties filed a suit against eachother.

In Osun state, the home of former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola after the breakaway, PDP elders in the state gave a warning to members of the party in the state not to be seen with the former governor who is the National Secretary of the PDP Baraje faction, a warning that some defied when he visited his home country and placed the present crisis rocking the party on the feet of the National Chairman Bamanga Tukur, while addressing journalists.

We bring you more details as we get them.
