The PDP Kwankwasiyya group in Kano state, North West Nigeria has resolved to join the New Baraje PDP faction.

The Party’s former publicity secretary, Alhaji Saleh Jili who confirmed the news, also told Channels Television that he was not disqualified by the National leadership of the party, saying that their tenure expired since August the 15th and it is expected that the National leadership of the PDP will send a caretaker committee pending when the state congress will be held.

“We members of the Kwankwasiyya Group have resolved to join the new PDP and already some local government areas of the state have followed, by declaring their total support.”

Meanwhile, there was an unconfirmed report that the Tukur-led PDP formed and sent a caretaker committee led by Colonel Habibu Shuaibu (rtd.) to take over the leadership of the party in Kano.

However, for now it is not known who will be loyal to who, as the PDP in Kano before the breakaway at the federal level has already had cracks in its wall, there is the PDP Kwankwasiyya group led by Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso, the PDP Garkuwa led by Aminu Wali and the Minister of National Planning Mr. Shamsudden Usman.
