The Kwara state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has flagged off the campaign for the local government election scheduled for 26th of this month.
The campaign, which witnessed huge support from the 16 local governments in the state, was attended by the state governor, Abdulfattah Ahmed, members of the National Assembly from the state including Senator Bukola Saraki and other political associations.
Speaking at the occasion, the state governor, and Abdulfattah Ahmed urged politicians in the state not to be deceived by those he called “gold diggers” who want to reap from where they did not sow, assuring that the ruling party will continue to implement policies that will have direct impact on the people.
The senator representing Kwara Central, Bukola Saraki while presenting the party’s flag to the 15 chairmanship candidates, urged them to always consider the poor in their programmes when elected adding that open door policy should be their watchword every time.
He noted that the crisis of the party at the centre will soon be resolved, urging party supporters to be dedicated and be loyal to the party structure in the state every time.
The occasion also witnessed the decamping of members of opposition party to the ruling party in the state.
