The Ekiti state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has presented cheques amounting to N295m to 95 communities in the state.

Governor Fayemi said it’s the second phase of the grants-in-aid to communities on self-help project to further complement the development of the rural areas across the 16 local government of the state, while speaking at the ceremony which took place at Annunciation school, Ikere-Ekiti.

Dr. Fayemi also called on the Traditional rulers and the community development associations of the benefiting communities to ensure adequate supervision and close monitoring of the contractors who will be involved in execution of the project so as avoid any hitch.

The commissioner for rural development and community empowerment, Folorunso Olabode said the idea is to ensure total transformation of all the communities and to turn every nook and cranny of the state to a conducive environment in line with the 8 point agenda of the present administration.

Some received the sum of N400, 000, and some N700, 000 depending on the kind of project.
