Taraba State House of Assembly has unanimously endorsed Hon. Josiah Sabo Kente representing Wukari I constituency as its new speaker.
Until his endorsement on Monday, Hon Josiah Sabo Kente was the Deputy Majority Leader of the house.
The recent development followed the passing away of former speaker late Hon. Haruna Sokwa representing Takum I constituency who died eight days ago after a brief illness.
The new speaker in his acceptance speech called on people of the state within and in the diaspora to team up with the state in its development drive.
He also called on the law makers to extend similar cooperation accorded to his predecessor while in office to him too.
The speaker, who prayed for speedy recovery of the state Governor Danbaba Suntai, also prayed Almighty God to grant his predecessor eternal rest.
Hon Josiah Sabo Kente was born in 1970 and currently a PHD student of Mass Communication in Benue State university Makurdi.
Before joining politics, the speaker was a television journalist with the Taraba Television (TTV) and was elected to represent Wukari I constituency in 2007 elections.
This is his second term in the Taraba State House of Assembly.
