The Yobe state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has inaugurated stakeholders of the APC across the 17 local government areas of the state, in a bid to ensure full take off of the activities of All Progressives Congress at grass root levels.
Inaugurating the committee at the council chambers of the government house in Damaturu, the governor whose speech was delivered by his deputy Abubakar Aliyu said the inauguration was geared towards re-invigorating the party machinery by putting a solid foundation that will bring members from the merger group through effective dialogue.
The composition of the members according to him was chosen based on track records and urges them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working towards unity and success of the party at their various areas.
The governor charged them to promote stability among members and to map out strategies to galvanise support for the party at the grass root level ahead of the general election.
While describing Yobe as the home of APC, the governor also assured that the party will present more credible and reliable alternatives to the PDP which will transform the country for the better.
Gaidam also described the merger as the best thing that has ever happened to Nigerian politics in recent times.
He also assured that decisions and actions taken will always be in the interest of the supporters and all Nigerians for even development.
The inauguration was attended by political top members of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
