The Ogun State Police Command has read the riot act on the use of fireworks at carnivals without authorization, as the state prepares for the yuletide celebrations.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikemefuna Okoye, said this at a meeting held at the Police Officers Mess in Abeokuta, the state capital, with members of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC.

He said that the command will not take it lightly with perpetrators of unauthorized use of fireworks and other behaviours that could compromise public safety and security of the state.

While assuring the indigenes of the state of adequate security of life and property, the commissioner of police also encouraged residents to always provide the Police with quality information that could lead to the arrest of criminals before, during and after the festivities.
