The prison mate of Nelson Mandela, Ahmed Kathrada has described the former South- African president as the champion of liberation and justice.
He said the nation has been blessed with many great men and women but Mandela had always stood by the country through its dark days.
“We have been blessed with his active involvement with struggle of democracy for South Africa and to all who live in it, black and white, for all these and more we are deeply grateful to Madiba”.
“We are deeply grateful that our dignity has been restored to all South Africans, we are deeply grateful for the lives of thousands that live in South – Africa are improving”.
The Comrade added that Mandela brought a constitution and law that brought freedom to the people of South-Africa.
