Dateline Abuja looks at the association of retired military personnel in Nigeria and how they have been treated by the Nigerian government.
The association of ex-service men in Nigeria, the Nigerian Legion says the government has not paid attention to the association.
The President of the union, Col. Micah Gayya (Rtd) says the union is a voluntary association that is self-sustaining.
He said that the government could extend a helping hand to make the Legion fare better.
“Veteran association in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. We travel and we see how other countries’ veteran associations are catered for,” he said.
