There are strong indications that the comic character, Jenifa, created by comedienne Funke Akindele is about to hit the big screens again. Although the creator of the character refused to confirm or deny this, UK based singer, JJC skillz revealed to Channels Television that Jenifa is actually coming back.

Also, Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo beat four other Nigerian actresses including Nse Ikpe-Etim, Rita Dominic to the ‘Best African Collaboration’ prize at the 2013 edition of the Ghana Movie Awards. Ozokwo won the award for her role in the movie ‘Slave Boy‘.

Other big winners of the night were Jackie Appiah who beat Yvonne Nelson and Yvonne Okoro to win the ‘Best Actress‘ and John Dumelo who beat Majid Michel to win the ‘Best Actor‘ award.

Kunle Afolayan’s yet to be released film, October First, has started winning awards even before its premiere date. The highly anticipated movie won the award for ‘Best Fiction Trailer’ at the International Movie Trailer Festival.

‘October First’ was filmed in 2013 and features Afolayan himself, Sadiq Daba, Deola Sagoe, Ibrahim Chatta, David Bailey, Kehinde Bankole and many others.
