The Headies Awards 2013 was well attended by Nigerian celebrities but raving lyricist Olamide emerged the biggest star of the night by carting away three individual prizes and one for his ghost mode collaboration with fast rising act, Phyno.
The rapper also won the best rap album, album of the year and the best street hop categories.
Other winners were Jaywon of Kennis Music who bagged the recording of the year, EME’s Banky W with the Best R&B Single, 2face Idibia with best pop single, and rapper Modenine reclaimed the respected Lyricist on the Roll Prize.
2013 was no doubt an eventful year within the Nigerian music industry. Entertainment correspondent, Abidemi Dairo sat down with entertainment PR consultant, Ayeni Adekunle to review the highs and lows of the Nigerian music industry in 2013.
