The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration, NAFDAC, Doctor Paul Orhii has called for greater private sector investment in the pharmaceutical industry to tackle counterfeit drugs.
The NAFDAC boss stated that better infrastructure such as mega distribution centres to streamline chaotic drug lines would be a major boost to safeguard against sub-standard products.
In spite of an on-going partnership with security agencies to curb the drug menace which has left many vulnerable to various diseases and loss of lives, Orhii urged Nigerians to be on high alert against drug vendors and scammers extorting money from unsuspecting victims in the guise of recruiting into NAFDAC.
