This edition of Law Weekly features a prominent commercial legal practitioner, Mr Kemi Balogun. He gives yet another perspective for tackling the cumbersome delays associated with court proceedings.

Mr Balogun is best known for his work as an insolvency practitioner. He is an authority on corporate commercial law and renders legal opinion to banks, multi nationals and governments.

He is also a chartered arbitrator and a consultant to the Ekiti state government. In this interview, Mr Kemi Balogun shares his perspective on the performance of the judiciary and also gives suggestions for tackling the delay associated with court proceedings.

We also track the developments with the south west lawyers forum, ‘Egbe Amofin’, in its quest to produce an acceptable candidate for the elections of the Nigerian Bar Association scheduled for July this year.

Last week, the lawyers forum had met in Lagos and 15 of the south west branches represented at the meeting said they endorsed the candidacy of Mr Dele Adesina for the presidency of the NBA.

Now after we went on air with that story, another group in the forum which met in Ibadan, on the same day the Lagos group met, sent to Law Weekly a communique from their own meeting.
