Ahead of the governorship election in Osun state, the state resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Rufus Akeju, is soliciting the support of the council of Traditional Rulers.
At a meeting held at the palace of the Ooni of Ife in Ile-Ife, he appealed to the Royal Fathers to create awareness in their respective communities and educate their subjects to exercise their civic responsibility.
The traditional rulers raised several issues ranging from logistics, education, awareness on election process to ensure that the challenges of the past, are adequately addressed for a successful conduct.
Ambassador Akeju however assured that the commission is determined to conduct a free and fair election, devoid of malpractice.
