The immediate past Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant-General Onyeabor Ihejirika, has blamed the increasing cases of terrorism in Nigeria on regional threats and militia activities in neighbouring African countries.

Speaking in Abuja at a farewell ceremony to pull him out of the Nigerian Army, General Ihejirika said that the menace of terrorism and insurgency can however be resolved quickly if people volunteer information and appreciate the sacrifices being made by the nation’s security agencies.

The ceremony which attracted top serving and retired military officers later saw General Ihejirika being pulled out of the Nigerian Army by Brigadiers-General and other senior officers.
