Speaking during an exhibition held at the Universal Basic Education Board in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Modupe Adelabu, explained that the idea was to equip the students with the relevant skills to enable them stand on their own without necessarily running after non existing white-collar jobs after leaving school.

The exhibition featured primary school pupils and parents from across the 16 Local Government areas of the state, who showcased their talents by displaying different handmade products such as shoes, bags, necklace, all made of beads, including baskets and native mats.

Some also displayed native pots and cups made of clay, and while some were making native black soap, others were busy making cloths with different kinds of sewing machines.

From one local government to another, the pupils also danced round to showcase their products to the audience.

The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi, who was present at the exhibition, expressed satisfaction that this was a step in the right direction and that the State Government would continue to assist and promote creativity and innovation through the acquisition of the requisite entrepreneurial skills.
