Cracking the insurgency in the North East is not a challenge before military and the federal authorities alone, as state governors are also worried about the senseless killings by the Boko Haram sect.
Rising from their meeting in Minna, Niger State, North Central Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party Governor’s Forum condemned the slaughter of secondary school students by the sect in Yobe.
Chairman of the forum, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State also urged the military to work out new strategies of combating the insurgency.
Governor Akpabio further reached out to aggrieved members of the party, and asked them to sheathe their swords.
