Amosun_ogunThe First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, has empowered about 300 women living with HIV/AIDS in the state, as part of her pet project, in line with the Women’s Day Celebration.

Women from about 20 Local Government areas of the state received items including freezers, sewing machines, grinding machines, generators, amongst other equipments.

Addressing the women, the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, promised to support people living with the virus, just as he spoke on  stigmatization and discrimination against people living with the disease.

Speaking on behalf of others, the leader of women living with HIV/AIDS in the state commended the State Government for the gesture, saying it would go a long way in the improvement of their socio-economic development.

The occasion rounded off with the flag off of the 2.6 million long lasting insecticidal treated nets by the State Government to reduce infant and maternal mortality associated with malaria in the state.
