Bukola SarakiA rally has been held by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, expressing their continued support for the Senator representing Kwara Central as one of the political leaders in the state.

Precisely from 8 o’clock in the morning, thousands of APC supporters trooped to the Ilorin International Airport to welcome the man popularly known as Sai Bukky having got wind of his impending arrival.

Although the man arrived nearly 6 hours later, the scorching sun did not dampen the spirit of the people who shouted his name on arrival.

Senator Bukola Saraki then surprised the teeming supporters as he trekked the nearly 6 kilometres from the airport to the Emir of Ilorin’s palace, accompanied by the people and other political office holders, causing traffic hold up for several hours as he waved the broom which is the symbol of the APC at the people.

The Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari prayed and showered him with blessings, after which the senator addressed journalists and thanked the people of Kwara for the show of love and affection.

He described the recent PDP rally in the state as a mere show of unserious politicians who were not based in the state to know the needs and yearnings of the people.

He noted that he had predicted three years ago that some unserious politicians would try to lure them, urging the people not to be derailed by empty slogans of freedom which he believed could be misleading.

He accused the Federal Government of not been able to mention its completed projects in the state during the rally. He added that the people of the state were politically matured to differentiate the truth.
