The Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies has commended the Nigerian media for being fearless and robust in the promotion of the nation’s democracy.

At the institute’s award for media excellence, the Director General of the institute, Professor Epiphany Azinge, said the institute was rewarding the efforts of the media at nation-building.

Eight time winner of the Nigeria Media Merit Award for best television station in Nigeria, Channels Television, was among the nine recipients of awards in different categories.

Channels Television received the award for the Friendliest Media House while Channels Television Judiciary Correspondent, Sola Soyele, received an award as an outstanding media friend of the institute.

The institute expressed hopes that the award would encourage the media to contribute to national development.
