yeroooThe governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Yero, has held series of meetings with traditional rulers and youths in the state aimed at halting the brazen attacks on communities in the state.

The meeting was convened at the instance of the Governor as part of collaborative efforts of Government in stemming attacks on innocent citizens especially in the southern part of the State and Birnin Gwari Local Government Area in the northern part where scores of people have been killed by unknown gunmen.

Addressing the traditional rulers in his office, Governor Yero said the State government would not allow hoodlums to cause chaos in the state through incessant attacks on helpless citizens of the state.

While in a meeting with chairmen and secretaries of various communities in the southern part of the state, Governor Yero appealed to all all to unite and live together in peace.

“The government in collaboration with security agencies, is already taking steps to address the security challenges in all parts of the state and you also have a role to play as royal fathers and community leaders towards the enthronement of peace in the state,”Governor Yero said.

The Governor equally condoled with the traditional council over the unfortunate incident at Kaura communities where many lives where lost and property destroyed.

In his remark, the Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris, said the killing of innocent people could bring calamity upon the entire society and appealed to the perpetrators to stop such acts and embrace peace.

Those who attended the meeting are of the believe that similar meeting would be held constantly across the three senatorial zones of the state in order to engage themselves in continuous dialogue towards the enthronement of peace in the state.
