Al-Makura Promises To Stop Incursion Of Fulani Herdsmen Into Farmlands

Governor Tanko Al-Makura has again promised to address the incursion of Fulani herdsmen into farmlands, a situation that has led to the death of five people in Giza Community in Benue state.

The governor made the promise when he visited the traditional ruler of the community, the Sangari of Giza, Umar Elegu, which is on the border between Nasarawa and Benue states.

He informed the community Head that he is working with the Benue state government to address the situation while advising them not to take laws into their hands.

Some of the displaced persons, under the protection of military officers, gave an account of what led to the attack.

Giza is one of the communities situated directly on the borderline between the two states and requires immediate action to address the mutual suspicion between Nasarawa and Benue state indigenes.
