National-Assembly-NigeriaAuthorities on Tuesday ordered the evacuation of the members of staff and other workers in Nigeria’s National Assembly over a bomb scare.

The bomb scare is coming one day after a bomb blast at the Nyanya Motor Park in Abuja killed 75 persons and left over 150 injured.

In response to reports that a bomb may have been planted in the premises of the National Assembly complex, authorities requested that the complex should be vacated by staff and other workers for proper check to be carried out.

The complex is just a few kilometres away from the Nyanya motor park where the Monday incident occurred.

The legislative complex is located within the Three Arms Zone, one of the most secured places in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Security agencies are investigating the bomb blast and have beefed security in the Federal Capital Territory.
