About 20 people including a district head may have been killed in fresh attacks by gunmen believed to be Boko Haram members in two villages in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.
One of the places attacked was Wala village in Gwoza Local Government Area, where the gunmen killed 18 people and injured many others.
Before that attack, another set of gunmen had on Tuesday raided Sabon-Kasuawa village in Hawul Local Government Area, where they killed a district head and his guard.
It was gathered that the gunmen entered his palace unhindered and shot the district head on his bed.
This incident is one of many such attacks on Gwoza town by the terrorists in recent times.
